LL.M Intellectual property law

LL.M Intellectual property law Study Programme deals with the rights to the protection of inventions, designs, literary, musical and artistic works, and others. LL.M Intellectual property law provides a specialization that complements existing legal education.

After completing thorough training in the basic pillars of law Administrative, Constitutional and International law, this study program will enable you to develop in many other fields such as:  Legislation, Product falsification and Copyright Piracy, Intellectual Property Rights and International Branding Knowledge. In addition, this study program can be combined with others to create their own specialization, for example in the field of Business Law, Civil Law, International Law and others.

Graduates will acquire expertise to provide qualified advice on matters of business secrets, patents, trademarks, copyrights and their enforceability and protection.

The study is designed for lawyers, notaries, trainees, lawyers, law students, lawyers and workers working on a daily basis.

LLM Intellectual property law - Master of Law
LL.M is an abbreviation from Latin term Legum Magister, which means “master of law”. It is internationally recognized post-graduate law education.

Study process:

In each study programme there are 3 core (compulsory) modules. The student chooses 6 mandatory modules, with the option to specialize in his study focus by replacing three of them with 3 mandatory modules from another study programme.

The study is not based on the semester system.

The study ends with working out the final thesis, with a positive rating from the supervisor and the opponent.

Entry requirements:  

  • Completion of either Bachelor´s degree from a university or high school studies (+ at least 3-5 years of working experience) or equivalent to the level of an academic bachelor’s degree.
  • Students must complete a Bachelor´s degree in Legal Studies before applying to LL.M study programmes.

In addition to the general entry requirements, you must meet the specific entry requirements as detailed by each programme. For example, many Master’s degree programmes require that your Bachelor’s degree has a particular major, or you may need to have completed certain subject credits within your Bachelor’s degree.

The length of the study is 9 – 18 months.
