MPA State administration and local government  


MPA Study Program The State Administration and Local Government is suitable for students looking for a career in government, self-government. The program prepares the student for the role of a manager in the state administration or self-government. Develops the skills and techniques used by managers to implement policies, projects and programs that address important issues of state administration and self-government.

After completing thorough training in the basic pillars of study consisting in modules: Cyber ​​Security, Public and Economic Policy, Decentralization. This study program will enable you to develop in many ways. For example in Public Economics and Public Sector Economics, Europrojects Management, Rural Financing Options development from the EU funds, the election organization of the Slovak Republic, in the areas related to the state budget and budget principles and rules in the preparation of the public budget, social policy, territorial local government or public finances and others.

In addition, this study program can be combined with others to create its own specialization, for example in the field of public policy and international relations. 

The study is intended for students who want to be involved in public administration, public policy, or want to manage or work in state administration.

Entry requirements:  

  • Completion of either Bachelor´s degree from a university or high school studies (+ at least 3-5 years of working experience) or equivalent to the level of an academic bachelor’s degree
  • In addition to the general entry requirements, you must meet the specific entry requirements as detailed by each programme. For example, many Master’s degree programmes require that your Bachelor’s degree has a particular major, or you may need to have completed certain subject credits within your Bachelor’s degree.


  • the possibility of parallel study together with another study programme,
  • specialization in a certain field of law,
  • the possibility of shortening the study,
  • choice of form of study.

Study process: In each study programme there are 3 core (compulsory) modules. The student chooses 6 mandatory modules, with the option to specialize in his study focus by replacing three of them with 3 mandatory modules from another study programme.

The study is not based on the semester system.

The study ends with working out the final thesis, with a positive rating from the supervisor and the opponent.

The length of the study is 9 – 18 months.
